The Dataz

The Dataz came kicking and screaming into the world in 1984 in Mexico City. At the frustrated age of 15, he discovered how to channel his natural rhythm by converting his computer, running buzzmachines, into a whole slew of instruments. He ramped up his creativity over the years producing with labels such as Inminimax, HighSeven, Dialtone and TemaDigitalLabel. We at Minoi Music are tickled pink to have snagged him for his newest release, Same Colors.

The Dataz’s original roots are in Techno, House & Deep, but more lately he’s sometimes waded, sometimes plunged into Minimal & Deep House. Whatever he’s calling it, we want more!

Word Of Mouth EP – Cancelation notice

Minoi Music Sarl has decided to cancel the release of announced “Word Of Mouth” EP.

French Riviera Groove EP (VA)

Minoi Music proudly presents a collection of tracks with a definitive summery touch, by old and new friends. Luca Morini, a prominent Italian producer who made a name for himself through years in the underground scene, provides us with a Deep and pumping house track to move the dance floors up this summer. His next release will be on Minoi Music this September. Marcelo Cura contributes to this “French Riviera Groove” with a deep track. He tapped on the traditional Balinese music (Gamelan) to provide us with a Deep track that would perfectly fit a night out. In Bali’s “Ku De Ta”, for example! After a remarked remix on our last release, up and coming Festina Lente from Italy delivers a Deep and melodic track. Keep an eye on this kid: he does have skills. His next release will also be on Minoi Music. Tekmao, a Colombian artist with a solid background as a drummer, presents a punchy track with jazzy accents. This is a teaser for its next EP, coming on Minoi Music next September. The “Minoi Familly” collectively signs this track off. Pumping bass, hip-hopish samples and, as usual, a fondness for old school FXs. Enjoy !

The IT EP

There’s more to Brazil than feathers and samba. This EP draws from the cozy dance floors of Leblon, Maresias or Buzios. Ideally, you should feel surrounded by lush vegetation and imagine that you¿re dancing on a wooden deck with slender, tanned creatures dressed in white.  You’re likely not there now but this EP will give you a feel for “It” nonetheless. Rulian Ross initiated this sunny fantasy for his third release on Minoi Music. A well-rounded, polished Deep house track; Clavs and drums softly take you on a tour. Minoi Family powers their version of the track with an old-school kick/hats combination and pushes the envelope of standard filters and effects. Finally, newcomer Festina Lente from Italy remixes The It with an extravaganza of synths and a defining lead trumpet.

A ce soir EP

Minoi Music stays in Italy for this 7th release. We’re proud to have Aaron und Pascal on board. They have seen recently with Nick Curly, Pemont, Marc Antona or Shlomi Amber. Production-wise, they deliver a minimal house track very groovy and modern. The B side is collaboration with luca Morini. After 20 or so tracks in 2009, he starts 2010 by putting his Deep House touch to this remix. Keep this name in mind for Aaron und Pascal are very soon going to be on every charts.

Love EP

To kick off an exciting 2010, Minoi Music proudly presents its 6th release: the Love EP by LarmSohn, a duo of young producers from Bari, Italy. The main track Just Free Love” combines jazzy contra-bass accents and female vocalized voice with a modern minimal beat in a really catchy track. Love tribute, their b-side on this EP, is a tribute about melancholic “saudade” finding his way between digital & analog drums. To support these newcomers, the Minoi’s team contributes with remixes of Just free Love: Marcelo Cura, our tropikal guy, transports the track to an Organique remix: night birds (litteraly :-) and dark chords on a power full bass line. Brace yourself, you will travel in through time and space.Audiopoint, on the other hand, infuses tech style drums with pumping deep house elements in an extremely sleek combination. Give us more !!
Simply….LOVE !

What I want EP

Marcelo Cura’s second EP is garanteed to impose a powerful atmosphere over nightbirds. Soulish keyboard or brass, warm vocals supported by percussive beats power these “très Minoi” tracks. In his shamanic way, though, Marcelo summons mystic inspirations from all over the world to guide us through the night in his definitive fashion.

Minoi Family

We at Minoï take pride in running a business fueled on creativity and relationships. When people passionate about music meet, they might spend some time on release schedules, planning collaborations and other business matters. However, they’re almost certain to discuss and make music together. Such jams usually bring forward new ideas that are then bounced to friends. Establishing paternity after an orgy was always complicated (and somewhat awkward) so, true to music, we decided to create “Minoï Family” to credit such works.

Magical EP

Magical is the new project of the Minoï Familly, remixed
by B. Original. It all began with two friends jamming a deep, old-school track. Jo then decided to ask his friend B. Original, owner of Pin Up recording, to soup the track up and give it the Deep flavor “made in the U.S. of A.” that is so influential to Minoï Music. Jo also bounced the track to Rulian who gave it the surgical edit treatment for a minimal version that might well par with acclaimed EP “La Main” on the dance floors.

Marcelo Cura

The son of a Chilean painter and German stylist, Marcelo followed his own artistic path with music. After a classical training and Sound Engineering BA, he started composing and arranging tracks while DJing in Paris (Bus Palladium, Folie’s, Showcase, etc.) or abroad (Israel & Germany, most recently). He was recently heard and seen with Alex Celler or Ilario Alicante and has exciting prospects for development…
